Hamilton Terrace
Have your say on this consultation
Consultation closes on 16th April
Please counter opposition to protected cycle route on Hamilton Terrace
Hamilton Terrace (parallel to Maida Vale) is set to become a cycleway as part of Cycleway 51, and could get protected cycle tracks for its entire length – but it’s under attack! Local councillors are encouraging people to object. Please show your support. Losing the Hamilton Terrace scheme could mean delaying or losing the whole of C51.
You could say in your response, using your own words:
Yes please to protected cycle tracks on this busy road! This will enable new people to start cycling locally, including children
Option 2 is best, using parked cars to protect the cycle lane. This already works well elsewhere in London, such as Hanover Street in Westminster and Liverpool Road in Islington
We do not support Option 1 as it has no protection, and Option 3 puts cycle tracks in the centre of the road, which makes it harder to enter and leave the cycleway safely
The junctions need to be safer for cycling – painted bike boxes / ‘ASLs’ on their own are not good enough at these hostile junctions.
Please take a minute to respond today – closes 16 April
Westminster needs YOU!
We need your help at this exciting time of change in attitude towards active travel! You don’t have to live in Westminster to join our local campaign group. If you cycle in or through Westminster, or wish you or your loved ones felt safe to do so, we could use your help. We need more active members to help with whatever you enjoy doing - creating flyers - writing content for our newsletter or website - social media - organising events or meetings - marshaling bike rides - and much more.
We meet on the first Monday of the month at 6.30pm, usually online, and would love to welcome you! Sign up to our newsletter to find out more:
